Greetings
Welcome to Parenting Support, raising children is one of the most challenging jobs on earth, but at the same time the most wonderful heart fulfilling journey a parent will take. I have been lucky to have the wisdom of many wonderful people and now it is my time to give back and complete the circle or in my mind the heart of parenting and the care of children.
From my Heart to your Heart

As a mother of 5 children I have had my struggles and challenges. I remember times when I was desperate for help. Some of the struggles I remember were trying to understand my own frustrations with my children's behavior, feeling upset when my children were misunderstood at school and no one was listening to me and all the well meaning advice that comes from friends and family. What I also found frustrating was the amount of different information that is on the internet. It can be very confusing and as parents we sometimes question our own ability in regards to parenting, yet we are the experts of our own families. There are many different types of support but what I have found is that many of the services are based on a specific philosophy, offer perscriptions or are a band aid soultion. Parenting practices can be very different and unique to individual families and cultures. What might work for one family may not be the best fit for another family.
As a professional early childhood educator I have been very lucky to work with families and colleagues and have come to value all the different knowledge and perspectives regarding child development and parenting. As I became more curious I decided to pursue my bachelors degree in child and youth care. Using my experience in parenting, my knowledge in child development and my understanding of families in the child and youth care field I have to come to offer parenting support.
Parent support is a way to help families discover their own parenting journey. A place to discover services in your community that may be valuable to your family. A guide to help find your parenting path and lead you to a greater parenting experience and a place to know that you are not alone.
I am now a grandmother, my children are all grown up. However, I am very lucky to spend my days with young toddlers and preschoolers who are my greatest teachers. There are days when frustration sets in and I have to take a deep breath and pause. Then I look over to see one of the children looking into the flower garden with curiosity at the bumblebee sipping nectar, then I remember how we are all connected and how amazing life really is.
