For the Love of Play!

Discovering the Love of Play

There is so much information about play and sometimes it is hard to understand what play really means in the lives of children. What I have learned is that the more you talk with parents and educators the more you begin to understand the benefits of play. I have also learned that researching, workshops and podcasts can be beneficial in understanding different ideas and theories of play. I learned that what I thought and believed  has an important value to my program and what I would want for my children (or in this case my grandchildren). Weaving all the information and ideas that I learned from others and through education brought me on a journey to where I grew more passionate about what play really means for children. Watching children play is probably the best teacher regarding play, especially once I understood the different concepts of play. Watching children gather, collect, transfer, transport, trajectory of objects all began to make sense. They were not making a mess they were playing! This was just one concept that fascinated me so I began to observe, reflect and discover more. If you found a love of play please join us on our Facebook group where we share ideas, create conversation, give support and so much more! Lets all work together to support the love of play!
